Introducing new and improved line drawings. The purpose behind the all new line drawings is to provide you with a more end-to-end design service and line drawings are an important part of that service. With this update, we've added the ability to annotate drawings with dimensions, notes, and more. In this article, we'll review the three steps to creating line drawings:
In Step 1 you'll be setting up custom views. Here's a look at what the line drawings page looks like.
By default, Modus provides the floor and ceiling views. In addition to those two, you can create as many views as you'd like in this step. We've created a video showing how to set up these views below.
Once you've set up your camera views, you'll be able to annotate the views in step 2. In the top left, in the yellow highlight box, are buttons to add dimensions, add notes, and change units. Also notice the sub-woofer at the bottom. When you hover over an object, that object will be outlined in green and a pop-up with the object's name will appear. These two things are used to help you more easily place dimensions. We cover how to annotate drawings in the video below.
In the final step you'll generate the line drawings you've created. In this step you can input company information and choose a page size. It's important to note that line drawings always export as a PDF. Check out what one page of the line drawings look like below.
The new and improved Line drawings provide an easy way to move from VR design to real world builds. We hope you enjoy!
